It takes a lot to fit texts to a specific cultural context. That’s why I operate according to the mother-tongue principle and translate written material from Italian and English into German. For translations into Italian or English, I co-operate with qualified colleagues working into their mother tongue. To assure quality, we use current tools for translators such as Trados Studio 2015.
My special subjects are: classical music; design; architecture; the history of art; medicine (internal, alternative); traditional Chinese medicine; nutrition and homeopathy.
As the work involved in a translation varies widely from one text to another, the best basis for working out the price is the text for translation itself. I am pleased to advise you on this and will offer you a fair price. In accordance with Section 5 of the BDÜ Code of Professional Practice and Ethics, of course I guarantee to treat your documents with the utmost confidentiality. In the German-speaking countries, I base my prices on a standard line of 55 characters (including spaces). In the Italian cultural area, word-based pricing is the norm. I charge an hourly rate for certain file formats and for film footage. My General Terms & Conditions are applicable to orders placed. General Terms & Conditions (pdf).
